Here is a list of books that I have always wanted to read, but never pick up;

  • A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty smith: The main reason I’ve avoided this, as I can’t download it on my kindle, and my local library can’t stock it! I no longer buy physical books, so it’s hard to come by!
  • To kill a mocking bird: I think I may have read this before, but I can’t remember it! It feels very cliche, I’m not really sure why, haha!
  • 1984 by George Orwell: I began reading this a few years ago, but the first couple of chapters didn’t entice me. It has so many good reviews, that I do want to finish it!
  • See you in the cosmos by Jack Chery: This has been ignored on my TBR for a while now. I just read the synopsis, and it sounds really good, so no excuses for this one!
  • 806 by Cynthia Weil: I have always wanted to read this book, its a YA but seems targeted for a younger audience. I just haven’t felt like reading this genre, so it shall have to wait until that passion resparks!

Is there any books that have been if your TBR for a while? Books you do want to read, but never get round to? I’d love to hear what they are in the comments. Happy Reading!

  1. 1984 is on my TBR list, as are a lot of other “classics”: Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Pride and Prejudice. I tried reading Pride and Prejudice in high school and just couldn’t get into it.

    On another note, To Kill a Mockingbird has been one of my favorites since sixth grade. Highly recommend.

  2. I have a few. Probably the most cliche one on my list is Moby Dick. I feel like I should read it, and I own it. I still just never feel motivated to read it, so I should probably just give up on it.

      1. Well, I don’t think I actually want to, so when I do my next big clean out of books, it will most likely be in the sell pile. Life is too short to keep things on my TBR because I feel like I have to read them. haha

  3. I feel like 90% of books on my TBR I want to read but am never “in the mood” for. 806 was SO good though. I was super surprised by how good it was.

  4. My mum pointed our copy of 1984 out to me so that’s on my tbr list – I’ve never read it before, except excerpts in class so I’m quite excited but not sure how I’ll find it…

  5. I work quite emotionally in my TBR choices so sometimes I will ask my 5 year old to choose for me to relieve the indecision AND stops me continuously pushing ones to the bottom of the list!!
