I’m sure lot’s of my readers are aware about my struggles with mental illness and how I aim to use my platform to raise awareness and show the raw reality of how mental illness impacts my life. I often get comments or emails thanking me for being so open and honest in my content, and how you may relate or take advise from my posts. This is the main reason I still write today. Even if I help in the smallest way to one individual! To say thank you and give back, Blurt have teamed up with me! (another huge THANK YOU)
The Blurt Foundation are all about raising awareness and understanding about mental health, particularly depression. They do SO many things, such as raising awareness by collaborating with brands and schools, which I think doing with high schools is incredible! They provide free tools for anyone to access https://www.blurtitout.org/resources. The ‘Mental Health at Work’ page is fantastic and I wish I saw this before writing my blog post on my experience with this. Blurt use their social medias to share content to show that you the reality of depression, reducing the stigma and to highlight that you are not alone. Their Instagram page is so relatable! The current world situation can be overwhelming so on twitter Blurt have created the hashtag #seekingsunshine. To write 3 things everyday that bring you comfort and warmth! (I LOVE this idea). So today my 3 are;
1- That it is plant watering day (My apartment is full to the brim with plants and I love finally getting to water them! Thanks to the sun shining so often recently, I don’t have to wait weeks & weeks to do this)
2- My reading passion has re-blossomed. Last month I fell into a reading slump, and today I was able to read a few chapters without drifting else where. (Still on target to finish 100 books this year,yay!)
3- That the wonderful team at Blurt were so kind to be gifting a BuddyBox to one of you!
Yes, that’s right, a giveaway! I am so grateful for this opportunity. A Buddybox is a monthly box filled with items created around a theme. July’s theme is ‘Invest in Rest’, the box includes at least 5 hand picked products that will inspire and encourage self care. I think this is a fantastic theme, and especially important for those with depression. I often feel worthless and find it difficult to put myself first, or not try to be productive/my most efficient everyday so I can imagine how great this box could help you slow down, and let yourself invest in yourself and rest!
